RESTAURANT BOAT – GEORGIE KATE

How long is the cruise?

All of our cruises are 2 hours long

Is there parking available?

We have parking available on site with in Teddesley. However parking is limited and we would advise car sharing where possible. An over spill layby is available just off the Teddesley road below the bridge, but please be aware this is owned by highways. We can not be responsible for any persons vehicles or belongings when parked. Please be mindful of this.

Is there disabled parking available ?

We don’t have any designated disabled parking on board however you are welcome to request being able to park closer to the boat on the day and we will do our best to accommodate

What canal are you based on ?

Our boat is based on the Staffs and Worcester Canal

Can we bring our dogs on board?

Please know we absolutely love our fury friends but unfortunately, dogs are not able to come on board our restaurant boat.

How many seats can you accommodate ?

Our boat Georgie Kate can hold up to 28 passengers

Is there a toilet on board ?

Yes we have a toilet on board with a hand wash facility and handrails should you require

Do you allow children on board ?

Yes we allow children on board most of our cruises and offer a children’s option and price for the cruise specified

Do you have baby changing facilities ?

Unfortunately our walls are not strong enough to hold a baby changing unit at this time, however our on board toilet is large enough to change a small child. We hope to make changes to this in the future

Can you bring a car seat or push chair on board ?

CAR SEAT – We don’t always have room to accommodate a car seat unless your party is an odd number that we can exchange a seat

PUSH CHAIR – Unfortunately we are unable to allow push chairs on board. We don’t have additional room with in the isle to accomodate

How do we confirm a booking?

This can be done using our website booking calendar.

Can you pay with card whilst on board ?

Yes you can pay with cash or card, whilst on board

Do you have a licence to serve alcohol?

Yes we have an on board bar serving a selection of beers, wines, spirits, cocktails and soft drinks

Can we bring our own alcohol ?

Due to our licence we do NOT allow you to bring your own alcohol or drinks on board.

Do you offer a Gluten Free menu ?

Yes we can accommodate for gluten free but as all food is prepped in advance before departure we must know upon confirming your booking

Do you cater for Vegan or Dairy Free?

Yes we can accommodate for Vegan and Dairy free but as all food is prepped in advance before departure we must know upon confirming your booking

Do you Cater for Vegetarian ?

Yes we can accommodate for Vegetarian but as all food is prepped in advance before departure we must know upon confirming your booking

How often do you run cruises?

We run cruises all year round. Between April and September we run cruises from Wednesday through to Sunday. Between October and March our cruises tend to run on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Do you run cruises in all weathers ?

We will always try to make sure a cruise can run, but your safety is paramount. The only weather we may cancel or postpone a cruise is if the wind is beyond our control of the vessel or if ice stops the Georgie kate from getting through it

What happens if my cruise is cancelled ?

We always try to avoid cancelling cruises. However if we need to cancel a cruise we will try to make contact with you over the phone and we will offer you a full refund or the opportunity to transfer your booking

What happens if I fall ill, Catch Covid or I am unable to attend my booking or join my party on their booking?

Your booking is confirmed with full payment per person. We do understand that sometimes we cant predict falling poorly. Should you need to cancel and the cancellation is 14 days before scheduled cruise we will allow a transfer to an alternative date should this be available, however an administration charge of 10.00 will need to be paid to transfer the booking. We will always try and help where we can.

What is your address for the cruises ?

Our restaurant boat cruises from Park Gate Lock, Teddesley Road, Penkridge, ST195RH

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes gift vouchers can be purchased via our website at the top of the tool bar. You can arrange to collect or arrange postage. All of our vouchers have an 12 month expiry date on them from their time of purchase

SELF DRIVE DAY BOAT – ELSIE ELIZABETH

Where is the day boat located?

Our day boat is no longer located at Georgie’s Canal Cruises in Penkridge. We relocated her to Gailey Wharf, Watling Street, Gailey, Staffordshire, ST195PR

How many can you bring on board ?

Elsie Elizabeth can only hold up to 8 souls and no more. Unfortunately we can not allow any more than 8 persons on board for your own safety. This reason is not based on weight and no negotiation can be made before or on the day under any circumstances. We are so sorry for any inconvenience this may cause

Do we go through locks ?

Being in Gailey we have the luxury of choosing our recommended lock free route. Whilst we understand Locks may be fun to break up the day we will always advise the lock free route unless you have experience of canal boats. Should you choose to opt for the Lock route, An additional charge of £35.00 will be applied to cover the extra tuition and support given on your arrival

Are there any pubs on route?

On our lock free route we have The Anchor at Coven about 2 hours after your departure

On our lock route there is The Cross Keys or The Boat Inn at Penkridge about 2 – 2 1/2hours (depending on lock traffic)

What canal are we on ?

The Staffs and Worcester Canal

How far can we get with in the time frame we have ?

On our Lock free route you can get to Autherley Junction and return

On our Lock route you can get as far as The Boat Inn at Penkridge

Can we bring dogs on board?

Yes certainly. An additional charge of £15.00 per dog will be applied

Do you need to be experienced ?

No not at all. We will offer all tuition on hand over

How long can we hire the boat for ?

We ask you to arrive between 8.30am and 9am for hand over and hire in peak season is till 4.30pm. Off peak season due to the loss of light is 4pm

Do you have life jackets ?

Yes we can offer you life jackets whilst on board

Do you have a toilet on board?

Yes, there is a toilet and hand basin on board

Is there a fridge?

Yes there is a small fridge on board

What is available on board?

We do supply you with, milk, water, tea, coffee and sugar. There is a gas hob kettle, a frying pan and a sauce pan with utensils available on board

Can we purchase gift vouchers for your self drive day hire?

Is your day boat available all year round?

Our Day boat is available for most of the year. Please see the calendar for up to date information on availability

What happens if I need to cancel my day hire ?

Please refer to our terms & conditions regarding transfers & cancellations on bookings.
